The list of 55 peaks is defined in the waypoint files published at the WorldwideTurnpoint Exchange.
To “bag” a peak, a pilot must pass above and within 1.0 statute mile horizontally of the specified coordinates.
Claims must be documented by the submission of an IGC flight trace, along with a claim form detailing the pilot(s) names, date, glider and peaks claimed.
One claim may be made for any given day. A pilot may complete the challenge over any number of days during the competition period.
For a claim to be valid, a glider must release or power its engine off within 10 sm of the take-off location. This starts the soaring performance and no propulsion is then allowed till landing. The soaring performance must start below 10,500 ft MSL or below 2,500 ft above the take off location (whichever is the higher).
Claims must be submitted within 60 days of the flight.
The challenge started on the 17th June 2008 and will run till 30th September 2015.
Trophies will be awarded for the first 5 pilots who complete the challenge.
Participation is voluntary and free of charge. Participants agree that flight date and routes may be published.
Participants agree to be bound by the RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT
Participants must use their own judgment at all times and conduct operations in accordance with aviation regulations.
Flights will be declared valid if no objections are filed within 30 days of the flight submission.
When a multiple place glider is used, only one pilot may claim.
Any disputes may be appealed to the three person competition committee.
The organizers reserve the right to change any rule at any time.
General
